Ashi-Waza 足技
Foot and Leg Techniques
Ashi-Waza are foot and leg techniques that attack the opponent's supporting base. Reaps, sweeps, and hooks target the legs to remove balance rather than requiring full body rotation or loading. This subcategory contains the most techniques of any group and includes some of the most frequently scored throws in competition: Uchi-Mata, Osoto-Gari, and O-Uchi-Gari.
