Hold-Down Techniques
Osaekomi-Waza are hold-down pins applied in ne-waza (ground techniques). Tori immobilizes uke on their back, controlling at least one shoulder on the mat. Maintaining the hold for 20 seconds scores ippon. These techniques teach the fundamental principles of ground control: weight distribution, body positioning, and following uke's movement.
